Google has introduced four exciting new features for Chrome users on iPhones and iPads to enhance browsing, search, storage, and shopping. These updates aim to make the Chrome experience more efficient and integrated with other Google services.
- Google Lens with Image and Text Search: This feature now allows iPhone users to combine images with text when searching through Google Lens in Chrome. Previously, Lens only supported image-based searches, but now you can add text to refine your results. This means you can search for more specific details, such as asking about a photo of a product or location and including descriptive keywords.
- Save Files and Photos to Google Drive or Photos: To help manage storage, Chrome now allows you to save downloaded files and images directly to Google Drive or Google Photos, freeing up space on your device. You can do this by selecting Google Drive when saving files or using a long press on images to save them to Google Photos. This feature requires you to be signed into your Google account.
- Shopping Insights for Better Deals: Chrome now offers a Shopping Insights feature for U.S. users. If Chrome detects a good deal on a product you’re viewing, a “Good Deal Now” notification will appear in the address bar. Tapping this will give you details about the product’s price history, track prices over time, and show different purchasing options. This feature is expected to expand to other regions soon.
- One-Tap Maps for Address Viewing: When you encounter an address in Chrome, you can now tap it to view a mini-map directly within the browser without needing to open Google Maps. This makes it easier to access location information while browsing, and the feature will gradually roll out worldwide.
These updates are available in the latest version of Chrome for iOS, with some features expanding over time.
